FORMULATRIX is looking to hire a Team Lead for our Application Scientist group to increase our sales and marketing capabilities to help drive sales for our expanding product lines. This is an excellent opportunity to directly apply your laboratory experience to developing markets within the life science industry.

This position requires someone that is customer-focused, hands-on, organized, detail-oriented, and able to work in a fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate will have excellent leadership, communication, cross-group collaboration, and planning skills. Candidates must work well independently, with a global team, and directly with customers.

Job Responsibilities**

  • Lead a team in the outlining, planning, and the creation of collaborative technical publications that highlight how our automation solutions solve a problem for researchers and fit within their workflows.
  • Develop and administer training programs around relevant scientific applications for sales, marketing, and engineering teams.
  • Aid in the building and management of a laboratory to conduct small scientific experiments using our automation solutions.
  • Foster team collaboration and growth in peer-reviewing application-focused marketing materials to ensure they meet company standards.
  • Work with international collaborators to set priorities and goals for the Application Scientist Team.
  • Support the sales team with customer inquiries pertaining to relevant scientific applications.
  • Some domestic and international travel may be required.
  • Ability to work with a global team spanning multiple time zones.

Job Requirements**

  • Minimal education level of MSc (or equivalent) in the life sciences field.
  • MSc-level knowledge of general biochemistry, cell biology, and molecular biology.
  • Broad knowledge of natural sciences necessary for cross-discipline collaborations.
  • At least 2 years of wet lab experience (graduate research experience will be considered).
  • Team management experience is strongly preferred.
  • Life Science industry experience (1 + years) is strongly preferred.
  • Teaching experience (including Teaching Assistant positions) is a big plus.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English are a must.
  • First-author or co-author publications showing aptitude for scientific writing are a big plus.
  • Hands-on experience in at least one of the following fields: macromolecular structural biology, high-throughput screening or assay development, and process development.
  • Experience with commercially available or homemade laboratory automation.
